OBITUARY-Presque Isle County Advance, Vol 115, #19, Thursday. May 13, 1993.

ARLO "SAM" BRUNING, SR, age 73 Years, 4 Months, 2 Days, of Belknap Township, died Wednesday morning, May 5, at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw following a brief illness.

He was born to Ernest and Clara Bruning January 3, 1920, in Rogers City. He married Iris Derry July 5, 1941, and they made their home in Rogers City. During World Was II he was a merchant marine seaman and served as a wheelman aboard the Bradley Transportation vessels.

The family moved to Pontiac in 1949 where he was employed as a welder for five years by the Holly Tank Company. They returned to the Rogers City area where he worked as a welder and later in the Dock Department at Presque Isle Corporation until his retirement in 1976 after 26 years of service.

Mr. Bruning was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church of Belknap and also the Farm Bureau.

He was preceded in death by

A prayer service was held at the Bill Brietzke Funeral Home Friday evening. Funeral services were officiated by the Rev. William Besler of St. Michael Lutheran Church Saturday, May 8. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Michael Church.
