Vivian Roesch, 86, of Falls City, NE, passed away May 23, 2010 at Falls City. She was born January 7, 1924 at Hillsboro, TX to the late Thomas and Ona (Evans) Reese.
On July 27, 1945 she married Wilber H. Roesch at McKinney, TX. He passed away January 18, 1994.
Vivian and her twin sister were raised by their stepmother after their parents passed away. Vivian graduated from the McKinney, TX High School and graduated from North Texas State University at Denton, TX. She worked for the Dallas, TX Park Board in recreation. When Vivian began teaching in the Falls City Public Schools she taught Physical Education and coached for 25 years, retiring in 1986. Vivian and her husband had been a Past King and Queen of Cobblestone. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church (20th and Towle St.) at Falls City, and a member of WELCA of her Church and had served on various Church boards and committees. She was also a member of D.A.R. and sponsor of Girls Athletic Association and had been a member of Sorosis.
Vivian is survived by her son, Dr. Robert Roesch and his wife Sue of Fremont, NE, daughter, Glenda Nelson and her husband Gary of Falls City, twin sister, Marian Tidwell of Woodville, TX, grandchildren, Eric Nelson and his wife Erika of Gilbert, AZ, Tara McClarnen and her husband John of Glenwood, IA, great grandchildren, Bryce McClarnen, Ben and Emma Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Evans and George Reese.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church (20th and Towle St.) with Pastor Linda Daniels-Block officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.
