Norma J. "Daisy" Cherry, 66, of RD 5, Tyrone, died Tuesday March 2,
2004 at Bon Secours-Holy Family Hospital.
She was born August 17, 1937 in Bellwood, a daughter of the late
Norman and Isabelle (Garland) Shope. On Aug. 16, 1957 she married Edwin
A. Cherry in Tyrone.
Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Tonya Cherry of State College,
two sons, Craig and wife Barbara of Tyrone and Kip of Tyrone. She is
also survived by three grandchildren, Heidi and Travis Cherry, Garrett
Rhodes, four sisters, Marjorie Westwood of Ephrata, Linda Becker of
Altoona, Cindy Nicodemus of Altoona, Cheryl Butler of Stafford,
Virginia and her best friend Carolyn Myers of Tipton.
She was preceded in death by a son, Shane, two sisters Darlene
Corrado and Constance Quarry and a brother Drew.
Mrs. Cherry retired in February 2002 from the United States Post
Office, Tipton as a Post Master Relief following 20 years of service.
She was a member of the Grazierville United Methodist Church and 1956
graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School. She enjoyed traveling and being
with her family.
Funeral services will be held Friday March 5, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at
Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Jay E. Jones officiating. Interment will
follow at Charlottesville Cemetery, Antis Township. Friends will
received at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 p.. and 7 to 9 p.m. and
on Friday from 12 noon until the time of services.
