Obituary - Lillian Parry Dobson concluded her earthly experiences on her birthday, 96 years after her arrival on July 25, 1911 to James C. and Caroline Parry in Cedar City, Utah.
She married George Blaine Dobson Nov. 4, 1932 in the St. George Temple, and the family lived in Cedar City until 1941 when they moved to Farmington, Utah. With the exception of two years spent in Australia as missionaries for the L.D.S. Church, they were content to live the remainder of their lives there.
Although she was active in church callings until her late 80's she is probably best know for having taught square dancing to hundreds of Farmington youth, and it is a rare gathering where her descendants are not approached by someone who danced in her groups.
Her honesty, compassion, generosity and love showed through in every aspect of her life; to friends and acquaintances, but especially in her relationship with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren, each of whom was given ample opportunity to develop a special relationship with her, and each of whom was sure he or she was her favorite.
She is survived by children; Jerry (Carolyn) Farmington, Johann Yorgason (Keith), Fruit Heights, Chad, Washington, D.C. She was predeceased by her husband, son Boyd, her parents and all eight siblings.
Though her gardens were ample evidence of her love for flowers, we suggest that you might consider a contribution to a humanitarian program rather than flowers.
Funeral services will be held at the Steed Creek Chapel at 305 S. 200 W. in Farmington at 11:00 A.M. Sat. July 28. A viewing will be held July 27, 2007 from 6-8 P.M. at the Russon Brothers Farmington Mortuary, 1941 N. Main (West of Cherry Hill) and from 10-10:45 on Sat. at the chapel.
