Harvey A. Thornton 6/23/1922 – 5/28/2009 Harvey was born and raised in Leland, ID. He served in the U.S. Navy from Dec. 1941-1945. In 1946, he married Betty Boyd. Years later, they moved their young family to California. Harvey worked in Real Estate for 38 years. He loved playing golf and riding his horses. Harvey joins their departed daughter Tamara Divine and grandson Sean Divine. He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Betty Thornton, and their daughters Penny Thompson, Wendy Nolen, Claudia Arndt, Katie Therien, and Kim Anderson. Also, he leaves 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, June 7 at Sierra Pines Methodist Church, 22559 W. Hacienda Dr., Grass Valley, CA 95949. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Cancer Society or Hospice of Auburn.
