Orville Adkins
Orville John Adkins, 66, a retired machinist for the Bloomington Limestone Quarries, died Monday night at his home, 2020 S. Curry Pike, following an illness of a year. He retired in 1959.
He was a native of Monroe County and a member of the Harmony Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Eva M.; his mother, Sarah J. Adkins of R. 6; three sons, Orville Jr. of R. 8; Russell Lowel of 2010 S. Curry Pk., and James Merle, Woodyard Rd.; two daughters, Evelyn Bennett Adkins of W. Palm Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Dale (Mildred) Livingston of 1220 Arlington Rd.; five brothers, William and Virgil of R. 6, Harold of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Ben of Dayton, Ohio and Wylie of Indianapolis; four sisters, Bertha Sanders, R. 6, Mary Chapin, Curry Pd [sic]., Bessie Hodson, S. Highway 37, and Olive Troth of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
A son, Stanley James, and a daughter, Catherine Irene, preceded their father in death.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Day Funeral home Chapel with the Rev. Kia Rayle and Russell Livington officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The body may be viewed after 7 p.m. today

Orville J. Adkins, 66 who died Monday at his home, 2020 Curry Pk. Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Day Funeral Home with the Rev. Kia Rayl and Russell Livingston officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Samuel Freeman, Michael Demshar, Harold McArtor, Claude Sanders, James Pardue and Harley Hamm. Flowerbearers will be Lois Martin, Norma McArtor, Shirley Demshar, Erma Freeman, Susan Sparks, and Ruby Disney.
The body is at Day Funeral Home, where friends may call until time for the services.
