Military graveside services for Mr. Arnold Lavon "Red" Hicks, 79, will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at Brushwood Cemetery in Dubberly with the Rev. Wayne Priest, the Rev. Wayne Carter and the Rev. Don McCormick officiating. Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. Visitation will be held from 4 until 9 p.m. today, Sept. 15, and from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the funeral home. Mr. Hicks, a native of Dubberly, passed away Sunday, Sept. 14, at Minden Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Colvin and Zular Hicks; two brothers, Cecil and William Martin Hicks; three sisters, Louise Langheld, Marlene Tippin and Ida Mae Waggoner; and one grandson, Jeremy Wayne Priest of Dubberly. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Johnnie Lee Hicks; two sons, Tommy Hicks and wife Shirley of Minden, and Don Hicks and wife Rita of Dubberly; one daughter, Sharon Priest and husband Wayne; one daughter-in-law, Ruth Hicks of Dubberly; one sister, Cora Lee and husband Billy Ates of Minden; nine grandchildren, John Hicks, Angela Shine, Kevin Hicks, Tommy Jeanette Price, Jennifer Priest, Reba Jalil, Jason Holland and Allen Holland; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Spillers, Mernard Shine, Kevin Hicks, John Hicks, Ronnie Price and Dr. Carl Hines.
