Winnie Jean Miller, age 82, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010 in Arcadia. She was born December 17, 1927 in Arcadia, FL. and a lifetime resident. Winnie was of the Baptist faith.

Winnie was a very loving, caring mother, grandmother and sister and will be missed by her family very much. She was a great cook, which she prepared wonderful meals for her family; she also was the cafeteria manger for Desoto County School Board. Winnie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved to read western stories.

She is survived by three sons, Charles L. (Deborah) Miller of Arcadia, FL, Gary Miller of Arcadia, FL. and Billy (Ann) Miller of Hobart, OK; one daughter, Beverly (Pat) Harrell of Valdosta, GA; one brother, Horace (Gloria) Cross of Arcadia, FL.; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband William Marlin Miller, parents Horace and Bernice Johnson Cross, three sons; Bobby Miller, Dale Patton and Terry Patton and two sisters.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia.

Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Joshua Creek Cemetery, Arcadia with Rev. Wayne Cooper officiating.
