H.A. Raines, Jr., age 69, died peacefully at his residence November 29, 2006 in Canton, NC. He was a native of Haywood County and the son of the late Hector and Blanch Haley Raines. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carroll and Harry Pressley. Also now deceased are two sisters, Lita Pressley Johnson and Dortha Raines Whitaker. He was employed at Champion International and was a member of West Canton Baptist Church. H.A. loved golf, sports, and spending time with friends and family. He was a United States Navy veteran. With Reverend Wallace Britt officiating, funeral services were held in the chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Canton, followed by burial at Bon-A-Venture cemetery in Clyde, North Carolina.
