Nathan E. Shelton, Wichita Resident Since 1923, Dies

Nathan E. Shelton, 345 Wabash who would have observed his 75th birthday next Thursday, was pronounced dead upon arrival at St. Francis Hospital Friday. Death was attributed to a heart attack.

Born April 7, 1880, at Ellsworth, Kan., Mr. Shelton came to Wichita from Coldwater, Kan., in 1928. He worked as bridge building foreman for the Sedgwick County Engineering Department until he retired a year ago.

He was a member of Coldwater Methodist Church and the Moose Lodge in Wichita.

In addition to his widow, Elizabeth, he is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Grace Atwood, 326 N. Elizabeth; Mrs. Pearl Earnest Danville, Kan.; Mrs. Lillie Crawford, Benton City, Wash.; Mrs Mary Adair, East Moline, Ill.; Mrs Betty Hoensheidt, 1836 S. Vine and Mrs. Lola Gibson and Mrs_ Ella Milton, both of Medicine Lodge, Kan.; four sons, Floyd. 1041 Wichita, Charles E., 202 Munnell, Robert F., 1521 S. Sedgwick, and Paul G., 1023 S. Osage; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Freida Irwin, Long Beach, Calif and Mrs. Elsie Hodges, Burbank Calif.; one brother, W. E., Long Beach, and 23 grandchildren an three great-grandchildren.
