Kitty was the daughter of Thomas and Jemima (Newkirk) Bowen.

On May 31, 1847, Kitty married Jefferson Randol. Their children were:

Sarah M. (1848) - married George House,
William C. (1851),
John D. (1853),
Margurite (1858),
Mary E. (1863) - married Scott,
Albert,
Matilda Jane "Jennie" b. 1865 - married Foster,
Margaret.

Kitty died in an accidental drowning in the railroad reservoir (obituary in the Tipton Times).
