D. Raymond Knight
David Raymond Knight, son of Cass and Nancy Jane Knight, was born Oct. 11,* 1886, near Redding, Iowa. He was one of 14 children, 11 of whom have preceded him in death, also both of his parents.

He had been ill at his home for the past 5 years, at 209 North Maple St., Lamoni, and quietly passed from this life June 11, 1964, at the age of 77 years and 8 months.

He was married to Aural Martha Shannon May 28, 1919. To this union were born two sons: Wayne of Flippin, Ark., and Dale of Lamoni.

During their married life, they lived in the communities of Mt. Ayr, Red Oak, and Kellerton, before moving to Lamoni in 1940. He was employed at Liberty Home Farm 7 1/2 years and also for some time at the Lamoni Packing company.

He served his country during World War I.

He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife, Aural; two sons, Wayne and Dale; two daughters-in-law, Bonnie and Ila Mae; two grandsons, Michael and Tommy; one granddaughter, Michelle; one sister, Grace Young of Mt. Ayr; one brother, Reuben of Nampa, Idaho; and one sister-in-law, Florence Knight of Mt. Ayr; plus a host of neighbors and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 13 at Stewart's Funeral home. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
