In 1905, Obed married Miss Cora Alice Green in Campbell, Texas. The couple came to Proffitt, Young County, Texas by wagon train the same year from Rockwall County, Texas.

Services for O.T. Wooldridge, 59, of Proffitt were held at the Proffitt Methodist church with Rev. V.P. Morrison, Newcastle Methodist minister officiating. He was assisted by Rev. M.F. Richardson, Baptist pastor at Proffitt.

Survived by six sons - C.J., Obed, Neal, Quinten F., all of Proffitt; Benny W. of Poolville; Everett and Joe Henry of Odessa; three daughters - Mrs. Ed Terry, Mrs. Leroy Richardson and Miss Geneva Wooldirdge, all of Proffitt; four brothers - Charlie of Proffitt, Fred of Newcastle, Clyde of Cave City, AR; B.C. of Proffitt; one sisters - Mrs. Jack Cates of Proffitt; eight grandchildren.

Obed was a farmer and active in the affairs of the Proffitt community.

Obed and Cora were faithful members of the Methodist church.
