WAUKESHA - Rena C. Carter died Monday evening, Nov. 20, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 107. She was born Oct. 4, 1893, the daughter of Oliver and Kathryn (nee Tipton) Hackett.
In her younger years, Rena taught Sunday School at her church. More recently, she taught crafts to senior citizens and counseled elderly people who lived nearby.
She is the beloved mother of Don (Mickey) Carter of Mesa, Ariz., and Mary Kiphart of Waukesha. She will be missed by nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Rena was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, in 1966; an infant daughter, Elsie Mildred; and her sons, Robert and William.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Boulevard. Rev. Warren Bitzer and Rev. Elbert Ison will officiate. Friends may call Sunday from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. services. Interment will be in Prairie Home cemetery.
