SHORT ILLNESS BRINGS DEATH TO OLIVER HACKETT
Oliver Hackett, 88, resident of Fort Dodge for 28 years, died at 12:10 o’clock this afternoon at Mercy hospital after a short illness., He made his home in East Lawn Acres at 3125 Seventh Avenue south.
Mr. Hackett was born in Jasper county, Illinois.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Eva Fish, Mrs. Cora Carter and Mrs. Noy (sic) Sturdevant of Fort Dodge and Mrs. Minnie Monroe living in Illinois; two sons, Edward Hackett of Harcourt and Arthur Hackett of Silver Lake, Minn.; two brothers, John Hackett of Albion, Neb., and Noah Hackett of Oblong, Ill., 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. His wife died about two years ago.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Wilder funeral home. The Rev. B. M. Watson, pastor of the Epworth Methodist church, will conduct the services and burial will be in North Lawn cemetery. Friends may call at the Wilder funeral home till time of the services.
