Chrissa was the daughter of Benton and Genira Hall Aker. She was born in Decatur County, Iowa, February 7, 1887. The family traveled to Oregon before 1900 and first settled in Pendelton, Oregon. They later moved to the Needy Area.

Chrissa died of Tubercular Meningitis in the Oregon F.M. Institution, Salem, Oregon. She was buried in Rock Creek Cemetery April 22, 1910.
