SPEARMAN - (Special) - Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys C. Buchner, 59, of Follett, former Spearman resident were scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Thursday in the Spearman Methodist Church. The Rev. Charles Ellzey of Follett and the Rev. Aubrey Haynes of Spearman will officiate.

Mrs. Buchner died Tuesday in a Perryton hospital. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph C. Close, who came to Hansford County in 1905. She had lived in Spearman until she moved to Follett six years ago.

Mrs. Buchner was a past matron of the Follett Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Follett Methodist Church and the author of "My Garden," a volume of poems published several years ago.

Survivors include her husband, Louis M. Buchner, Follett; two daughters, Mrs. James Sparks, Spearman, and Mrs. John Gill, Canyon; two sons, Eugene I. Buchner, Amarillo, and Donald R. Buchner, Lubbock; and a brother, Johnny M. Close, Spearman.

Members of the Follett Order of the Eastern Star, of which Mrs. Buchner was a past matron, will conduct graveside rites at Holt Cemetery, south of Spearman.

Funeral services have been set for today, Thursday at the Spearman Methodist church for Mrs. Gladys Close Buchner, 60, who died in the Perryton Hospital Tuesday following a brief illness.

Mrs. Buchner was a former resident of Spearman and Perryton ahd had made her home in Follett since 1949.

Rev. Charles Ellzey, pastor of the Follett Methodist church, will conduct the final rites, assisted by Rev. Aubrey Haynes of Spearman. Eastern Star rites will be conducted at the graveside.

Mrs. Buchner is survived by her husband, L. M. Buchner of Follett; two daughters, Mrs. James Sparks of Spearman and Mrs. John Gill of Canyon; two sons, Eugene L. Buchner of Amarillo and Donald R. Buchner of Lubbock; a brother, John CLOSE of Spearman and nine grandchildren.
