Louisa Crisman was born in Porter County, Indiana on September 9, 1852 and died at Hubbell, Nebraska, February 18, 1937 at the age of 84 years, 5 months, and 9 days. She was next to the youngest of a family of 13 children, 3 brothers and 10 sisters, one of whom Mrs. Alice Bentley of Narka, Kansas survives.

She grew to womanhood in Indiana where she was married to Lorenzo D. Sholl at Wheeler on May 24, 1874.

Three days after their marriage, they started with Mr. Sholl's parents, brothers and sisters, together with another family for Republic County, Kansas where they arrived on June 22, 1874. Except for the next winter, which was spent on a farm near Arapahoe, Nebraska they lived in Republic County until September 1892 when they moved to Hubbell where they made their home until her death. Five of her six children, Henry, Effie, John, Harrison and Alta were born while they lived in Republic County and Nellie, the youngest, was born in Hubbell. Nellie preceded her mother in death in 1915 and Henry in 1916. Effie, now Mrs. Sam Myers, resides at Hebron; John at Hubbell, Harrison at Crete, and Alta, now Mrs. L.E. Brolliar, at Crete.

Mrs. Sholl was a woman whose every thought was devoted to her family and home. Her daughter, Nellie, being an invalid for nearly twenty years, required her almost constant attention, which was always cheerfully given with never a thought of complaint.

Her memory will be cherished by her husband, four children, ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, her sister, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Hubbell Saturday afternoon. Interment was made in the Hubbell cemetery.

Those from Crete attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Brolliar, Mr. and Mrs. B.H. Sholl and daughters and Mr. and Mrs. P.L. Munro and daughter, Evelyn.
