MORROW V BATES-85:
died Friday afternoon [4-04] at Brown Mem Hosp. MrBates was born in Jamestown PA; came to Conneaut in 1900. He later moved to Cleveland & Detroit but returned here in 1916. He worked for the Nickel Plate RR as a machinist retiring in 1946 after 30yrs of service. Bates & his wife Kate, celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1949. He was a member of Odd Fellows for 57yrs. He also belonged to Knights of Pythias, Salem Rebekah Lodge & Amboy Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors are a son: Gordon-Cleveland; a dau: Mrs Stanley Kent-Conneaut; a grandson; a sis: Gertrude Bush-Williamsfield; a bro: Earl-Denver CO.
Services are scheduled for this afternoon [4-07] at Marcy Funrl Home with RevAW Deut-sch-Amboy Methodist Church officiating. {Interment in Glenwood Cem}
