Edward Orval 'Ed' Woolery
(25 April 1951 - 17 May 2010)
Edward Orval (Ed) Woolery, age 59 of Joplin, passed away at 5:51 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2010 at Freeman West Emergency Room, after suffering a heart attack earlier at his home.
Born April 25, 1951 in Smithville, MO near Kansas City, he had lived in Joplin since 1975.
He previously lived in Warsaw, Butler and Sedalia, where he graduated from Smith Cotton High School. He attended State Fair Community College in Sedalia and Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield. Since 1995, Ed pastored at Quaker Hill Nursing Home in Lowell, KS.
He was former Vice President and President of the Cerebral Palsy Center in Webb City and a former Kiwanian.
On October 21, 1977, he married Linda Kay Bullington in Joplin. She survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Dr. Beth Woolery of Joplin, Mindy Paige and husband Keith of Neosho; his parents, Orval and Ruth Woolery of Lowell; five grandchildren, Audrey, Alex, Kevin, Levi and Anna; a brother, Ben Woolery and wife Jeanie of Joplin; two sisters, Beth Coughennowner of Butler, Ellen Roughton of Bolivar.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Parker Chapel with Rev. Jerry Mayfield officiating.
Interment will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cerebral Palsy Center of Webb City.
