Heart Attack Is Fatal For Roy E. Borton Wednesday

Roy E. Borton, 54 year old farmer, died suddenly yesterday at 2 p.m. of a heart attack. Borton had been a Nevada resident for the past 28 years and an active member of community affairs.

He was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church, had served on the Story County Fair Board, the Nevada Community School Board, was a member of the Masons, IOOF Lodge and had an interest in Weuve and Hanson Implement Co.

Born May 20, 1910 at St. Anthony, he was the son of Arthur and L. M. Mae Borton. He was married March 7, 1934 to Verna Mae Michaelson at Thompson, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Verna; his stepmother, Maruie O. Borton; grandfather, Louie O. Clark; one son, Arthur Willis Borton; two daughters, Florine M. Smalley and Jurine B. Moore and grandchildren, Richard and Jackie Borton; Marshall Moore, David, Lowell, Gregory and Diana Smalley; three brothers, Howard, Louis and Lee Borton and two sisters, Julia Cooling and Minnie Tjelmeland.

Services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Lutheran Church with Pastor Victor Hackbarth officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens. The body will remain at Ryan Funeral Home until noon on the day of service.
