Clara Marie Seifert Wolf, 96, Elkader, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006, at Central Community Hospital, Elkader, following a sudden illness. She was born in Presho, South Dakota, on July 18, 1909, to John and Emilie (Bauer) Kainz. Clara attended country schools in Volga Township and one year at St. Joseph's Parochial School in Elkader. She was united in marriage to Herold Seifert on October 2, 1930. Herold died March 12, 1963. She married Reynold Wolf on June 30, 1975, and he died January 17, 1979. She was a nursing assistant at Central Community Hospital in Elkader for thirteen years.
Clara was a homemaker who loved celebrating her birthday, flowers, spending time with family and friends and traveling with the Heritage Club. She was a member of the Volga Legion Auxilliary.
Survivors include three step-daughters, Mary (Joe) Wachtel, Monica (Rod) Pennington, Janie (Steve) Schetgen; four step-grandchildren; twenty-four nieces and nephews and one sister, Eleanor Becker, Elkader. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; three brothers, Rudy, Leo, Ernest Kainz; one sister, Josephine Goedken; one step-daughter, Margaret Wolf and one nephew, John Becker.
Visitation: 5 - 7 p.m. July 6, 2006 at Leonard Funeral Home - Elkader, Iowa and one hour before mass time at the church on Friday.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. July 7, 2006 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Elkader, Iowa. Interment: July 7, 2006 at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Clayton Center, Iowa.
