Age 55, of Cranston, died Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at home. He was the former husband of Gail S. (Conte) Hopkins of Cranston. Born in Providence, a son of the late Alan C. and Margaret (Flanagan) Hopkins, he was a lifelong Cranston resident. Mr. Hopkins was a graduate of RI School of Photography. He worked in the Maintenance Department for RIPTA for 20 years, and was also the owner of Classic Painting Co. in Cranston. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Besides his former wife, he is survived by 3 children, Jamie R. and his wife Erica (Bellemore) Hopkins of Cranston, Colby A. Hopkins of Miami Beach, FL and Kristen M. Hopkins of Cranston; 2 grandchildren, Jason and Emilie Hopkins; 3 sisters, Joyce Chandronnet of Exeter and Cheryl Gormley and Cynthia Notorianni, both of Cranston; a brother, Donald Hopkins of Cranston and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother of the late Arlene Watkins, Lois Carvalho and Sandra, Charles R., Ronnie and Karen Hopkins. Interment with Military Honors in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
