Jimerson was the s/o Stephen KENNEDY & Mary A. HOLLAND. He was the h/o of Nicey COLLINS (1st wife) b. abt 1816 in Bulloch County, GA. They were married 10 Dec 1835 and had the following children all born in Bulloch Co., GA.

1. Josiah Kennedy, b. 16 Jun 1837 d. 18 Nov 1918.

2. Eli Kennedy, b. 12 May 1839 d. 14 Feb 1912.

3. William Kennedy, b. abt. 1841; d. between
1863-1864. He was a Civil War Casualty.

4. Ann Jane Kennedy, b. 08 Dec 1843 and
d. 15 Jan 1922.

5. Stephen Kennedy, b. abt. 1845 and d. between 1862-1865. He was a Civil War Casualty.

6. Michael Jimerson Kennedy, b. 30 Oct 1847;
d. 15 Jun 1919 in Bulloch Co., GA.

7. John Kennedy, b. abt. 1849; d. 1923 Bulloch Co., GA.

8. America Kennedy, b. 19 Jul 1851; d. 26 Jul 1900.

They settled on a farm near his father in the Holland Community, living there until after 1860. Nicey died there prior to 1863, no record of her death or burial. He then moved from Tattnall County to the Excelsior Coummunity of Bulloch County. He was a prominent farmer of his day, his cattle barn was the largest in the area, it was standing in 1929. Kennedy's Bridge, a short distance away on Canoochee River, was named after him.

After Nicey died, he remarried to Elizabeth COLLINS, d/o Seaborn COLLINS and Nancy J. COURSEY. Please see her listing this cemetery for all of their children. Nicey and Elizabeth were cousins.
