Leland Ernest Shrock of Woodburn died of causes related to age Saturday in a Woodburn care center. He was 87.

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Hoodview Church of God in Woodburn. Private interment will be in Belle Passi Memorial Mausoleum.

He was born Feb. 9, 1905, in Trilla, Ill., and moved to Oregon in 1920. A longtime Woodburn resident, Mr. Shrock had worked as an aide at Dammasch State Hospital and as a janitor for the Woodburn School District. He served in the Army in World War II and attended the Hoodview Church of God.

Survivors include his wife, Anna; sons, John Van Lieu of Woodburn and Carl Van Lieu and Wayne Van Lieu of Aurora; daughters, Peggy Jeffery of Salem and Barbara Jane Van Lieu of Tacoma; brothers, Albert of Portland, Noble of El Cajon, Calif., and Clifford of Hubbard; sisters, Ethel Finch of Tigard, Edith Hunt of Hemet, Calif., Hazel Buckbee and Edna Kehl of Eugene and Daisy Chapelle of Portland; 13 grandchildren; and 14 grandchildren.

The family suggests remembrances be contributions to the church organ fund of Hoodview Church of God.
