Hazel Shrock Buckbee
January 17, 1915 - January 30, 2013


Hazel Shrock was born near Trilla, IL, one of twelve children of Benjamin and Ida Shrock. She graduated from Woodburn, OR High School and attended Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, ID. In 1938 Hazel married Harold Buckbee. They lived in Portland, OR until 1949, when they moved to Eugene, OR.

Hazel was devoted to her family, her Lord and serving at the Friendly Street Church of God in Eugene. She was talented musically, loved to help and organize, and was known for her cooking and baking. She and Harold enjoyed traveling and taking long walks and hikes into their 80s. In her later years family and friends enjoyed her beautiful smile.

Hazel went to be with the Lord at age 98 in Vancouver, WA where she had moved after the death of her husband Harold in 2006. She was also predeceased by her granddaughter Christi in 2007. She is survived by daughters: Karen Liedtke (Gary) of Vancouver, WA; Adele Kehoe (Richard) of Highland, CA; and Bette Worcester (John Pinkstaff) of West Linn, OR. She has three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sister Edithe Hunt and brother Clifford Shrock, and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of Hazel's life at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Holladay Park Church of God, 2120 NE Tillamook St., Portland, OR.
