Her parents were Lloyd M. Boatman and Myrtle A. Johnson.

She was married on Aug. 3, 1930, in Shenendoah, Iowa to Charles Floyd DeVorss who died Jan. 30, 1987.

Elsie was age 82 years at death. She graduated from Shubert, Ne. High School in 1926 as valedictorian. She received a teaching certificate from Peru State College in 1928. She was a teacher and also worked in the Pople sewing factory making soldiers' clothing from 1942-1945, and also worked at St. Mary's Hospital until she retired in 1966.

She was survived by children, Mrs. Joe(Lorraine) Rico of Nebraska City, Ronald W. and wife, Carolee DeVorss of Tecumseh, Bob and wife, Lola DeVorss of Nebraska City, Mrs. Joe (Wanda) McGuire of LaVista, Nebraska, Dorothey Morse of Nebraska City and Richard DeVorss of Nebraska City and sister Edith Middleton of Silver Springs, MD. brother, Lawrence Boatman of Nemaha, NE. 23 grandchildrne, 33 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband,two granddaughters, two grandsons, one brother and three sisters.

She was a member of the First Christian Church (Desciples of Christ) in Nebraska City, NE.
