FISHER, Cecil John of Hersey Twp. Age 76, died Saturday, June 6, 2009 at his home. He was born on January 4, 1933 in Saginaw, MI to Elijah John Fisher and Luella Rosella Brown Fisher. He married Gaelyn Miller on November 21, 1986, she survives him. Previously of St. Charles Cecil moved to the Hersey area 22 years ago. He was a master basketmaker who had two educational videos utilized by schools. He was a member of the Saginaw Black River Swan Creek Chippewa Indian Tribe of Mt. Pleasant. He was a Korean War Veteran and also donated cases of food to various local food pantries. He also enjoyed Traditional Indian Dancing. Surviving besides his wife Gaelyn Fisher of Hersey are two daughters, Sandy (Raphael) Melcher of Saginaw, Renae Tall Deer Fisher of Arkansas; four sons, Brian Miller of Hersey, John Wild Fire Fisher of St. Charles, John Swiftwater Fisher of Hersey, Eligah Bear Fisher of Hersey; two sisters, Naomi Emma (George) Pederson of Mt. Pleasant, Emma Jane O'Keefe of Mt. Pleasant; step-sister, Linda (Robert) Gilland of Saginaw; three brothers, Solomon John Fisher of Evart, Elijah John (Kay) Fisher of Saginaw and Antonia Cardenas of Alma; four grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Mr. Fisher was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Diane Fisher, granddaughter, Trista Marie Cranmer and four brothers, Oliver, Jesse and Larry Fisher and William Carenas.
