Daughter of John William Murphy and Lucy Mary McAuliffe. She was one of 3 children. She was baptized in the St. Mary Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She graduated from Tecumseh high school in 1935. Genevieve died at the age of 75 years and 22 days.
She taught country school for 2 years, at which time she met and married her husband. She was married on July 28, 1937, to Clifford LeRoy Allen. They had 5 children.
They began their married life on a farm near Crab Orchard, NE. living there until 1944 when they moved into Crab Orchard. staying there until 1949. then moved to a farm five miles west of Tecumseh, NE. where they farmed and raised livetock. In 1983, they moved to Tecumseh, where they spent their retirement years.
She loved sewing, cooking and gardening. Her hobbies included many collectables, such as china, figurines, lamps, music boxes, baskets antiques and teddy bears to name a few.
She was preceded in death by Clifford, her beloved husband of 53 years. an infant son, Lonnie and her parents.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Dorothea) Kubitz of Lincoln, Mrs. Richard (Arlene) Huenink and Mrs. Larry (Annalee) Nickel, both of Beatrice, Ne. and a son James E. Allen of Tecumseh. seven grandchildren, Nick Huenink, Rick Huenink, Joel Huenink, Todd Nickel, Mrs. Dan (Sandy) Olsen, Jeff Jubitz, and Mrs. Gary (Laura) Pierce, and three great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Keith (Myrtle) Gibbs of Tecumseh and Mrs. Joseph(Jerry)Hupka of St.Mary.
Services were held April 26, 1991 at Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, NE.
