Funeral Services Held at Hokah for Mrs Sarah Sargent
Hokah, Minn - - Funeral services were to be held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs Sarah Ann Ellis (Shaw) Sargent, wife of John H Sargent, who passed away at her home early Sunday morning after a lingering illness following a stroke two years ago
Mrs Sargent was born July 20, 1860 at Big Springs, Wis. On Oct 23 1892, she was married to John H Sargent, four children being born. One daughter, Rose, died in infancy.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs Lewis Foss and Mrs Thomas Schawley of Hokah; one son, Robert Sargent of Lacrosse, and one son and three daughters by a former marriage, to George Shaw, deceased. These children are: Mrs Leona Labor of Napa, Cal, Mrs David Donnly of Hokah, Mrs Myrtle Dye, Arpon, Wis and David Sargent of Portage, Wis. One son, John of Adams, Wis, preceded his mother in death just a month ago. There are also 35 grandchildren.
Funeral services were to be conducted Tuesday from the Presbyterian church at 2 pm, the Reverand C S McKinney of Caledonia, officiating, with interment in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
