Georgie Derrick Beckham, 95
Georgie Derrick Beckham, 95, died Saturday, July 1, 2006.
She was the daughter of the late George Jacob and Leila Stuck Derrick. She was married to the late Halcott J. Beckham Jr. She attended Winthrop University and the University of South Carolina and was a retired high school English teacher. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was active in the church library. She was a member of the Lancaster Study Club, Springs Auxiliary, the Lancaster County Retired Education Association and a volunteer with the Brookdale Club for Alzheimer's patients.
Survivors include a daughter, Jan Beckham Duke and her husband, William, of Lancaster; three grandsons, John Duke of Lancaster, and William and Dr. Wes Duke, both of Atlanta; a granddaughter, Ann Scott of Lancaster; two great-grandsons, Dallas Duke and James Duke; one step-grandson, Wilson Scott; and six great-granddaughters, Paige, Meg, Katie, Emily, Anna and Gracie.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen K. Beckham.
Services were Monday at Westside Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Bert Welch, with burial at Westside Cemetery.
