MR. BARTON

Mr. Claude Barton, 71, a resident of Baker, Fla., died Monday in a Pensacola hospital. Mr. Barton was a native of Covington County. He had lived in Okaloosa County for the past 14 . He was a retired farmer of a member of the Gantt Masonic Lodge No. 589 and a member of the Goodhope Congregational Church in Baker where he was a senior deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth Barton, of Baker; two daughters, Mrs. Jim Courtney and Mrs. Cecil Nixon, both of Baker; three sons, Ellry Barton, Nashville, Tenn.; Max Barton and Dalton Barton, both of Andalusia; two sisters, Mrs. Rosa Tucker and Mrs. Benna McVay, both of Andalusia; two brothers, I.D. Barton and Clyde Barton, Andalusia; 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday from the Goodhope Congregational Christian Church near Baker with Rev. Woodrow Plant and Rev. Joe Brown officiating. Burial will be in GoodHope Cemetery with masonic rites at the graveside.
Whitehurst Funeral Home of Crestview is in charge of arrangements.
