The family settled in Taycheedah Township in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin. Anna married Johann Steffes on 28 Apr 1874 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mount Calvary, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin. They had 11 children.

When her husband died in 1903, Anna and five of her children moved to Sublimity, Marion County, Oregon, where a brother and a sister-in-law had settled with their families.
