Daughter of the late Dr. Cecil Marvin and Pearl Helton Hitchcock, she was the widow of Murray Jefferson Poole. Additionally, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Marvin Hitchcock, Jr., and William Osler Hitchcock; and two sisters, Thelma Hitchcock Taylor and Doris Hitchcock Poole. She was survived by three sons, Murray Poole (Barbara), Randy Poole (Peggy) and Larry Poole (Carol); a sister, Marilyn Hitchcock Demott; and four grandchildren, Jeffrey Poole (Heather), Chris Poole, Jonathan Poole and Joshua Poole. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church where her funeral was held on March 4, 2005, with The Rev. Jim Soles officiating. She was a retired school teacher with the Colquitt County Board of Education.
