Charlie Hatmaker, 88 of Kitts, KY passed into eternal rest at his home following a long illness.

Charlie was born on September 24, 1921 in Lafollette, TN to the late Mellie Williams Sanders and Lewis Hatmaker. Charlie was a man of faith who believed in the risen savior. He was retired coal miner with 37 years of service to the coal fields of Harlan Co. He was an avid gardener who loved the outdoors. He was a skilled craftsman and could "fix" anything. He always had a chore in mind or a project he was working on. One of his greatest joys was his grandchildren. He loved his "Little Honeys" and derived great pleasure from their visits.

Besides his parents, Charlie is preceded in death by his Step Father, Warren Sanders, brothers, Howard Pete Hatmaker and James Sanders; sisters, Alta Whitaker and Katie Fee.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 70 years, Ola Mae Maggard Hatmaker; sons, Jerry (Bonnie) Hatmaker of Kitts, KY, Jim (Maxine) Hatmaker of Lexington, KY, Ed (Charlotte) Hatmaker of Molus, KY; his sister, Gladys Cornett of Cumberland, KY; his brother, Bill Hatmaker of Lafollette, TN. His Grandchildren, Tracy, Mark, Jim, Steve Hatmaker, Barbara Griffith, Mike and John Allison, Michelle Howard and Angie Daniels; great grandchildren, Stephen and Ethan Hatmaker, Logan Griffith, Destiny and Andrew Hatmaker, Macie Lee and Lukas Scott Daniels, Mariah and Marissa Howard, Zachary and Micah Allison and Wyatt and Liam Allison; He leaves many friends and other family members who will also mourn his passing.
