Conrad G. Haas
Conrad G. Haas, a 64 year-old resident of Cadott, died suddenly Friday evening at St. Joseph's Hospital, Chippewa Falls.
He was born July 3, 1910, in Thorp, where he grew up and attended schools. He was a World War II veteran, and by trade did carpentry and electric work.
On Nov. 14, 1936, Mr. Haas married Grace Marshall at St. Charles Church, Chippewa Falls. He came to Cadott in 1944, where he operated the Cadott Gambles Store until retiring in 1970.
Mr. Haas was a past village president and a charter member of the Cadott Lions club. He sang in the St. Rose of Lima Church choir for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Grace: three sons, David, Newark, Ohio; Ned, Chippewa Falls; and Mark, at home; two daughters, Jane Haas Minneapolis and Mrs. Douglas (Kathleen) Kinder, Ft. Knox, KY; two brothers, Bernard, Cadott and Leonard, Sun Prairie; four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Budzinski and Mrs. Manetta Danielewicz, both of Thorp; Mrs. Annabelle Budzinski, Downers Grove, IL and Mrs. Marcella Schultz, Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Haas, one brother, Arnold and one sister, Gertrude.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, with Father Jerome Gerum officiating. Burial will be in the St. Rose Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Leiser Funeral Home, Cadott, on Sunday after 2 p.m. Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were nephews Eugene Budzinski, Dale Danielewicz, Jarvis and Jeff Jackson, and Keith and Wesley Marshall.
