-Paul Cartwright, 87, Coeur d'Alene, died Friday at Coeur d'Alene Convalescent Center. Born Sept. 2, 1897, in Palisade, Neb., he came to Coeur d'Alene in 1935 from Nyssa, Ore. He married Agnes Voss in Coeur d'Alene in 1942. She died in 1975. He worked as a farmer, a restaurant cook, a carpenter and in a lumber mill. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Nyssa and Eastern Star, Queen Esther Chapter 12, in Coeur d'Alene. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Wilma and Eugene Surplus of Coeur d'Alene, grandchildren Paula Scott and Greg Surplus and great-grandchildren Kelly and Shannon Scott and Matthew, Brett and Christina Surplus, all of Post Falls.
-Masonic graveside rites will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Restlawn Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, N. 820 Summit Blvd., Spokane, WA 99201. ENGLISH FUNERAL CHAPEL, Coeur d'Alene, is in charge of arrangements.
