IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Ralph Ernest Ashliman, 92, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 9, 2010, at Good Samaritan Society Idaho Falls Village.

He was born November 15, 1917, in Logan, Utah to John Ralph Ashliman and Lena Gilgen Ashliman. When he was 10, his family moved to Idaho Falls where he attended schools and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Bronze Star.

On November 17, 1945, he married Alice Thelma Hansen in Idaho Falls. He worked in the construction industry as a cabinet maker. In 1993, his wife, Alice, preceded him in death.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking, and loved the outdoors.

Survivors include:
Sister: Laree Quinn, Idaho Falls, ID
He was preceded in death by his wife; an infant son, David; a brother, Ivan; and 5 sisters, Mildred Salverson, Ruth Pickett, Ila Mae Rogers, Jane Whitmill and Grace Cawley.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010, at Fielding Memorial Park. The family will visit with friends from 1 - 1:45 p.m. prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home (273 North Ridge Avenue).
