She married Dr. Raymond John Leffler in Iowa City and went with him to Naples, Italy and then back to the United States and lived the rest of her life in Knoxville, Tennessee. She passed away on October 4th, 1999 of pancreatic cancer. She requested to be cremated and her ashes to be buried in the same plot that Dr. Raymond John Leffler is buried in at Sherwood Memorial Cemetery in Alcoa; Blount County, Tennessee.
