Pauline V. Bowers, 85, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, in Pike's Peak Hospice Residence, Colorado Springs, Colo. Services will be held in Marengo and Colorado Springs at a later date.

Survivors include a son, James E. and wife Jennifer of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three grandchildren, Brian L. of Marion, Kathy Foster and husband Shawn of Cedar Rapids and Melissa Short and husband Dave of Independence; and five great-grandchildren, Miranda, Brittany, Austin, Jacob and Colby.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bigelow; her parents; five sisters, Beatrice, Veda, Ethel, Faye and Ruth; and three brothers, Carl, Dale and Paul.

Pauline was born July 15, 1917, in Marengo, the daughter of Lennett and Caroline "Lena" Shilling Frederickson. She married Bigelow E. Bowers on Oct. 7, 1938, in Ottumwa. She resided most of her life in the Cedar Rapids area.

Memorials may be made to Pike's Peak Hospice and Palliative Care in Colorado Springs, Colo.
