The remains of Mrs. Joseph Markley were exhumed from the farm of D. Hershman on the south side of the Big Thompson and placed in Lakeside cemetery on Monday of last week. Mrs. Markley was the first white woman buried in Larimer county, having died April 1, 1863. A short funeral service was conducted by Judge W. B. Osborn who had just come to this locality from Central City. Mrs. Osborn who had come from her eastern home a short time previous was also present at the funeral.
