Eugene Stewart, 85, a resident of 3029 Havasu Way died Saturday, March 11, 1995, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born March 24, 1909 in Selma, Ala., a son of Alexander and Ellen Leu Adams Stewart. He had been a resident of High Point for the past two years, since moving from Wilmington. He had been employed as a self-employed building and painting contractor before retiring in 1989. He was a member of Christ Sanctified Holy Church in Greensboro. In 1929, he married the former Celia Carter, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Doris Collier of Virginia Beach, Va., and one son, Leon Stewart of High Point; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Christ Sanctified Holy Church Campground in Perry, Ga. with the Rev. Floyd Hagan officiating. Interment will follow in the campground cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. tonight at the church chapel in Perry, Ga.
