'Johnie Dunn, 69, of 1020 20th NE died 2 Nov 1973, in a local hospital. He was a retired employee of the Texas Highway Department. Funeral services were held 5 Nov, in Leverett and Steele Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Blase officiating. Burial was made in Evergreen Cemetery.

A lifetime resident of Lamar County, Mr. Dunn was born 9 Aug 1904, in the Jennings community, a son of L.T. and Sara (McCrary) Dunn. He married he former Loreda Hutto, who survives, in 1925 at Clarksville. He was a member of Springlake Baptist Church.

Other than his wife, survivors include a son, Richard Dunn of Austin; three daughters, Mrs. Marshall (Mary) Penn of Houston, Mrs. Carlton (Shirley) Story of Houston and Mrs. Pam Olsen of Paris; two brothers, Robert H. (Bob) Dunn of Paris and Marvin T. Dunn of Garland; three sisters, Mrs. A.C. Betterton of Deport, Mrs. Lula Sears of Iowa park and Mrs. C.J. Adams of Midland. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Mrs. Marsha Fergurson of Nacogdoches, Scott Story and Greg Blankenship, both of Wichita Falls and Lisa Dunn and Chris Dunn, both of Austin; two great grandchildren, Brent Alan Fergurson of Nacogdoches and Carrie Dawn Story of Wichita Falls.'
