MRS. JANIE M. SORRELL
Funeral Sevice for Mrs. Janie Mary Sorrell who died Wednesday June 4, at the local hospital, was held, Saturday agternoon at 3 o'oclock at the Beasle-Wood Funeal Chapel with the Rev. J. A. Overton, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Eastern Star services were conducted by the local Eastern Star chapter. Burial took place sunday morning at 9 o'clock at Pinecrest Memorial Park directed by the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.

The pallbeareres were J. B. Wallace, Sr., L. S. Mosley, Raymond Nash, Paul Sanders, Frank Strauss, George Emerson, Ode McMillan, and Hubert Sorrell.

Mrs. Sorrell was born March 17, 1875, in Hunt County, Texas. She had been a resident of Mena for the past 26 years. She was a member of the Baptist church and the Order of Eastern Star. She was maried to John Henry Sorrell in 1893 at Ardmore, Okla, Preceded in death by her husband in 1936, She is survived by four sons, D. H. Sorrell, Arlington, Va.; George D. Sorrell, Spiro, Okla.; Lucian Sorrell, Hochatown, Okla.; Jimmy Sorrell, Mena; four stepsons, C. W. Sorrell, Stansford [sic]*, Tex.; R. E. and J. E. Sorrell, Yakima, Wash.; G. W. Sorrell, Las Cruces, N. Mex.; two sisters Mrs. Mollie Scott, Salinas, Calif.; Mrs Della McAdams, Windsor, Calif.; four brothers, C. J. and Richard Lawson, Vernon, Tex.; R. C. Lawson, Los Angeles, Calif.; Otto Lawson, Knox City, Tex.; 38 grandchildren and 3 great grand Children.
