Services for John Henry "Dad" Sorrell, who died suddenly Monday at his residence on Eagle Gap Avenue of heart failure, will be Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Beasely-Wood Funeral Chapel with Rev. H. H. McGuyre officiating. Burial will take place at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

The deceased was a native of Alabama. He was born November 15, 1854. Besides his widow, Mrs. Janie Sorrell, he is survived by eight sons, George Sorrell of Van Buren; C. W. Sorrell of Stamford, Texas; R. E. Sorrell of Ivanhoe, Texas, J. W. Sorrell of Quail, Texas; J. E. Sorrell of Denver, Colorado; D. H. Sorrell, Lucian Sorrell, and Jimmie Sorrell, all of Mena, Arkansas. He is also survived by a brother, Jack Sorrell of Glenwood, and thirty-five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
