Cheryl E. Hammons, 44, of OKC; mother of Falesha and Daina Bradley and daughter of Mary Hill, all of Oklahoma City; a certified nursing assistant, Four Seasons Nursing Home; with daughters Falesha and Daina and Daina's two children, Peachlyn Bradley and Gabreon Bruce, was at the Social Security office obtaining a social security card for Gabreon.

Since she was a little girl, Cheryl Hammons was always the designated mother hen. She liked to take care of people, and She was always trying to be the mother, said sister Victoria Slaughter with a laugh. As soon as my mom would leave, she'd start running things. Yet Cheryl and her siblings never squealed on each other. We wouldn't tell on each other, and then we all would get in trouble, Victoria said. Whatever their punishment, once it was over, we'd all cry together, and then we'd laugh.

As an adult, Cheryl ran a tight ship sometimes working two jobs. Nursing was her chosen profession. But even it was never as important as her children and grandchildren. Her free time was spent visiting, playing cards or dominoes, shooting pool or dancing with friends and family. She attended Cathedral of Praise World Outreach Center in Oklahoma City.
