On Nov. 22, 1932 he married Ida Hansmann in Waukegan, Ill. He was a dairy farmer on the family homestead in the Town of Schleswig, until retiring in 1963. During his active years, he also worked part time at Vollrath Co., Sheboygan, the furniture factory, Kiel and was an auto insurance agent for 53 years. He was a lifelong member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ, Town of Schleswig, where he served as secretary for the Bethlehem Cemetery Association, served as treasurer for the town of Schleswig for 32 years and was also on the committee for the Federal Farm program for 19 years.
Survivors include his wife, Ida, a resident of Willow Park, New Holstein; one sister, Edna Diefenthaler; a resident of Willow Park, New Holstein and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 7 pm Monday, Nov. 14, 1994 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel with the Rev. Wayne Drueck officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Town of Schleswig. Friends may call at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel from 4 pm Monday until the time of services. A memorial has been established for Bethlehem United Church of Christ.
