Erna A. Jung, 86, a former Kiel resident, died Tuesday morning at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center, where she had been a resident for the past 11 months.
The former Erna Neumann was born March 12, 1901 in the Town of Schleswig, daughter of late William and Anna (Maurer) Neumann. She attended school in the Town of Schleswig.
On Nov. 11, 1921, she married Walter Jung at Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Town of Schleswig. The couple farmed in the Town of Rhine, and she moved to Kiel in 1973. He preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 1972.
She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, in Town of Rhine; and the Kiel Senior Citizens.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Lorraine) Rolloff of Kohler; three grandchildren; a brother, Oscar Neumann of Town of Schleswig, and a sister, Mrs. William (Edna) Diefenthaler of Kiel.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 8 p.m., on Thursday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, The Rev. Robert Goessling, pastor of St. Peters United Church of Christ, Town of Rhine, officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's United Church of Christ Church cemetery in the Town of Rhine. Friends may call at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, 4 p.m., until the time of service on Thursday night. A memorial fund has been established in her name for St. Peters United Church of Christ, Town of Rhine.
