Ida Neumann, 98, formerly of the town of Schleswig, died Tuesday evening, April 10, 2001, at Calumet Homestead Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein where she was a resident the past year.
She is the former Ida Hansmann, born Aug. 23, 1902 in the town of Schleswig, the daughter of Christ and Helena Voss Hansmann. On Nov. 22, 1932 she married Oscar Neumann in Waukegan, Ill. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1982. Oscar preceded her in death on Nov 10, 1994. The couple farmed in the town of Schleswig until their retirement in 1963. Ida was a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ and a former member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed playing the piano and accordion.
Survivors include one sister-in-law, Evelyn Hansmann of Plymouth and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Hugo, Arno, Walter, Arvin and Theodore.
