Brannen Hollingsworth, Mrs. Mary Hodges

Statesboro, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Hodges Brannen Hollingsworth, age 93, died Sunday at Brown's Health and Rehabilitation. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a resident of Portal, Ga., until moving to Statesboro in 1977, following the death of her first husband, F.M. Brannen. She was employed for over 20 years as a sales clerk with Minkovitz Department Store in Statesboro. Mrs. Hollingsworth was also a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and visiting with friends and family. She was of the Primitive Baptist faith. Mrs. Hollingsworth was preceded in death by her first husband, F.M. Brannen; her second husband, Emit Hollingsworth; and a son, Frank Mahlon Brannen.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Joe Robert Brannen Sr. and Cecil Lee Brannen of Statesboro; six grandchildren, Glenn Brannen of Nashville, Tenn., Mary Margaret "Cissy" Dellofano (Maurice) of Kissimmee, Fla., Greg Brannen of Pine Mountain, Ga., Joe Robert Brannen Jr. (Michelle) of Savannah, Jeff Brannen of Statesboro and Richard Brannen (Kate) of Statesboro; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson with Elder John Scott officiating. Interment will be in the Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John David Brannen, Adam Brannen, Milton Brannen, Alex Brannen, Bobby Joe Cason and Lee Deloach.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Statesboro First Baptist Church Building Fund, 108 North Main Street, Statesboro, Ga. 30458.
